Coasters and Park Pictures 2008

Well Once again, Another year quickly goes, and another coaster season starts, Welcome to the 2008 season. This year looks to be the poorest year on record for new rides and coasters in the UK as only one confirmed new coaster is to be built in the UK at Drayton Manor, and the only major new ride to talk about is the new Splash Battle Ride at Alton Towers, so it looks to be a very bleak year, so sadly this years updates will be shorter than normal. However I still plan to cram in as many updates as usual from most of the UK Parks anyway,Plus there will be a report from the MetroCentre up in Newcastle before it closes for good, and a report from New Pleasureland in Soutport before that closes at the end of the year, And there will be a Massive Report from America again starting in parks from Texas right through America upto the Mall of America where the New EuroFighter was built, So as always,Sit Back,Hold Tight, and enjoy the ride

Paultons Park
Paultons Park is always worthty of an update as its my local park, and they always install new attractions every year, so this year is no expection. Paultons has been busy again this year installing a new look Entry Plaza with Garden, and installing a New Wave Swinger Ride which looks great but sadly they had to remove one of their famous attractions to put in the new ride(Find out what attraction inside) We also take a better look at the attractions they built last year including the New Look Mini Golf Course and Tractors Ride,So enjoy this mega update of nearly 100 photos

Alton Towers
Alton Towers had a busy 2007 season, but they have been very busy again this season creating Mutiny Bay, the new area replacing Merrie England, and putting in a major new ride,Splash Galleons replaceing The Splash Karts, The New area looks splendid, and the New Ride looks just as good too, View Pictures of the new area and Ride inside, and my views afterwards

Legoland
We concentrated on seeing the Major New Rapids Ride last year at Legoland, But Legoland have still been busy this season making lots of improvments all around the park, Plus bringing in a new Rocking Tug Ride for the 2008 Season, The Rapids also looks a lot more presentable this year too which is good. View Photos Of everything thats been happening this season from the New Rocking Tug Ride, to Mini Golf Pictures, and an unusual look on an odd change to an already exsiting ride

Hayling Island
We havent been back to Hayling Island for a while, so thought it was time to take another brief Visit, There has been a few changes down at Hayling for the 2008 Season with a few of Draytons Old Rides in their former Robinson Land, So view pictures of all the changes thats been happening down there

SeaBurn Park and Ocean Beach
These were 2 short parks I visited before visiting Metroland,SeaBurn Park is located in Sunderland, and Ocean Beach is located in South Shields just up the road from SeaBurn. It is with sad news to report that Seaburn looks to have closed down and another park casulty for the 2008 seson,Ocean Beach was operating fine though, View Pictures of Both Park

A Tribute to Metroland
It was really sad to hear that Metroland at the MetroCentre was going to close down this year, but thanks to advance warning, At least it was possible to take a visit before the place closed down forever, however was it worth a really long journey time just to experience the place,Find out inside, and enjoy my tribute to the finest indoor amusement park the UK has ever seen

Thomas Land at Drayton Manor Park
Thomas Land has been one of the most major projects in any UK park this year and it comes with a New Rollercoaster too(the only new rollercoaster to be built in the UK for 2008),This area replaced Robinson Land which desperatly needed a refit of some kind, and I think this fits the bill perfectly, so is it a hit or a miss, Find out inside with pictures showing off the new land and my thoughts

Wicksteed Park
I thought this deserved another update sinse I havent visited the park since 2006,Wicksteed Park is such a lovely little park and is a really nice little gem of a place, Its the ultimate chill out place to visit in the UK I think. Wicksteed recieved a new log ride in 2008, and I finally got the Pinfari Coaster credit which I missed out on last time as it was closed,View some pictures from around the park showing off the New Log Ride and other attractions

COMING LATER THIS YEAR

There will be another Big Update from America later in the year, starting in Texas and Ending up at the Mall of America,Expect a massive update from all the parks I visit,Plus Reports on NO LESS than 4 NEW 2008 Coasters

Expect a Report from The New Pleasureland in Southport
